Tea is a social and nationalistic concern and a most overused past time. No matter what name we use for tea, chai, qahwa, brew, it refers to our colonial and cultural baggage. Tea is the social lubricant for a collectivist society. A tea happening is a theatre of wilful play, an unfolding narrative and interaction where tea is the invitation for participation.
The Tea Collaborative has interdisciplinary artists coming together to have tea and engage with the city on social and political grounds.
